The Wait is Over: Reveal Your Front-Row Seat to Gin Gin’s History!

The secret is finally out! Following our recent hints about a transformative new chapter for the Gin Gin Community Broadcasters & Historical Village, we are thrilled to officially invite the entire community to our Museum Open Day and Coffee and Car Day.

Mark your calendars for Sunday, 30th August 2026, from 8:00 AM to 2:00 PM. This is your chance to witness the "full circle" narrative of our region firsthand, as 104.9FM officially celebrates its return to its original home at the heritage-listed railway precinct.

What’s Happening on the Day?

We are throwing the doors wide open for a free day for all, designed to show the whole town the incredible treasures housed within our 1881 station buildings and across the grounds. Here is what you can look forward to:

• Explore the Village: The entire museum will be open, allowing guests to wander through our living history and explore vintage railway equipment and artifacts.
• Devonshire Teas on the Platform: Experience the nostalgia of the railyard with free Devonshire teas served right on the historic train platform.
• Coffee and Car Day: Hosted by the Gin Gin Auto Group, the morning will feature a spectacular car show. All good motorcycles and cars are welcome to display their pride and joy.
• Car Boot Sale & Markets: Browse a variety of market stalls or check out the unique "car boot sale"—where cars on display can sell treasures right from their trunks.
• Community BBQ: A sausage sizzle will be available for sale, alongside a coffee van for those needing an extra caffeine kick.
• Live Radio & Hub Atmosphere: Soak in the vibrant atmosphere of our new integrated cultural hub, where the hum of live broadcasting from 104.9FM mingles with community chatter.

This event is more than just a fun day out; it celebrates the official amalgamation that has secured the future of our museum and created a powerhouse cultural hub for the North Burnett. By bringing together the Tourist Information Centre, the Museum, and the Radio Station under one banner, we are "pioneering the future" while preserving our "historic soul".
